Manufacturing activities have resumed in the country in recent years and a number of new businesses have been established. Many manufacturing, trading, services and construction companies have commenced business operations. These companies have adapted themselves to changed conditions and have met with success in their endeavours.

Business conditions being not very conducive in Afghanistan have been further hampered by poor infrastructure, intermittent electricity, corruption and bureaucratic red tape a well as taxation problems.

Some innovative companies, despite the above challenges, successfully commenced operations. One such company is New Afghan Ittifaq Sports (NAIS) that is engaged in the production of sports goods, army uniform and promotional material.

NAIS Limited is a 100% owned subsidiary of Mr. Mohammad Arif (Arif), which was established in 2002 as a Sports and promotional materials production company. It is registered with the Afghanistan Investment Support Agency (AISA) and ministry of commerce.

The company won the First Zabuli Business Award organized by AISA and the Ministry of Commerce and industries among 4500 business companies. The only reason for wining the prize was creation of jobs for poor people. After receiving Zabuli Award all doors of opportunities were opened and we had 350% growth in sales and credibility among financial institutions.

Beside our main campus, the company has established provincial centers in Ningrahar, Maidan-e-shar and Kunar provinces to enlarge the business in the country. NAIS provides employment opportunities to vulnerable group including orphan (Above 18 age), widows, disabled and unemployed Afghan male and female by providing them with four -week training in handicraft to make them sew and make money carry out their societal responsibilities themselves.
